Anna, just curious: you say you tracked down the specimen through Tribby’s database, but the PDF at the link you provided doesn’t list Ramona.

Sorry about that… Maybe he made revisions after generating the PDF? I use the spreadsheet version, and Ramona was listed there. With limitations, the spreadsheet is a handy reference, and I recommend it:

Hmm. I still cannot find it in the spreadsheet. Perhaps you have a later version? The version online is Version 4, 2009.

The American Amateur Press Association maintains(?) a spreadsheet of ATF and BBS faces and catalogs showing them, 1897–1971. Although occasionally inaccurate, it is a very handy starting point for finding specimens and verifying tradenames.

Chapel members have sometimes reported not finding expected listings; apparently my copy is more complete than the one now available from AAPA. Perhaps David M. Tribby, the volunteer who compiled this info, retired and colleagues accidentally substituted an obsolete copy?

I’ve uploaded my copy here. Tribby’s heading reads that it was prepared in March 2003. The date of my copy is 03-12-2012, which reflects any changes that I may have saved since first downloading it.

Opening it with one computer in my network presents no problems. With another (different windows version, Apache Open Office instead of MS Excel), there was a warning about macros. I checked the file with my anti-virus app, and it finds no threat.

Enjoy!

P.S. See also the topic on ATF 1897 Catalogs.
