According to William E. Loy, Alpine# was executed by Henry Schuenemann, staff designer/punch-cutter for the Cleveland Type Foundry.¹ The earliest specimen examined by THP was published in The Inland Printer of December 1885 noting that the size advertised was “not shown in former issues.”
