Black No. 45 was created from various 19th century type specimen books. In American versions there was no Cap J, but I found one in a French type book I came across on the internet this year. I also added some alternate characters to this typeface as well.

Black No. 45

Anna

Can you attribute the producer who introduced this design? The primary source of your working specimen?

To Miss Anna

This Blackletter was created from various sources, and no patent we know of exists, therefore it is a generic face, Black No. 45 as it was called in the 1898 Book of American Types.

Yours Truly,
Robert
