Carmen# was advertised by the Bauer TF (Stuttgart) in Volume 33 of Archiv für Buchdruckerkunst und verwandte Geschäftszwiege|Archiv für Buchgewerbe, 1896.
Worldwide, the enormous popularity of Bizet’s famous opera prompted multiple fonts named for the fiery leading lady during the same period. Dan X. Solo distinguishes this one as Carmencita.
Alan Prescott, a Star THP Partner, has digitized this letterpress typeface for posterity.
Carmen has been revived as Carmenite Roman:
