The Fashion Family. A collection of five nice ‘n’ neat latin faces introduced by the Farmer Little TF (New York) and popular during the 1870s and 1880s.
The “fraternal twins” shown here are Fashion Condensed# and Fashion Ornamented#, which have been revived by THP PartnerAlan Prescott. They were shown (18 pages apart!) in the 1887 catalog; the ornamented version was caps-only.
The prototype, Fashion, was patented in 1876 by Andrew Little. It was also shown by Farmer’s “kissin’ cousin,” the Cincinnati TF, which shared the same grandfather, Elihu White [1778–1831]. A.V. Haight designed Fashion Antique in 1887. Fashion Extra-Condensed was designed by Julius Herriet Jr. and advertised in The Inland Printer of October 1891.
The three remaining faces have not been digitized for posterity. Learn more…
