Does anyone have any information about this typeface or where it originated from?

Anna

Sorry Johney,

One of your specimens exceeds the upload filesize limit, 1024 kb (1.2 mb?). Can you re-sample it? First, convert any color model (usually RGB) to grayscale. It may also help to export it in .png or .gif format. The .tif format (native to scanners and preferred for superior working specimens) is not supported by browsers.

Otherwise, maybe a link to another site where Chapel members may view it?

The typeface title translates in English to Encrusted Latin. It “looks” French, and it is a latin. I have yet to write a page about latins (developed during the 1870s); this one on runics introduces it:

Hi Anna,

Thanks for the info. I did managed to upload a cropped version of the specimen in my second post.
I will upload the complete version later today…
