The THP Bazaar eCommerce site MUST be launched ASAP—with or without magic features for displaying font-specific glyph maps and test-drive views.
These state-of-the-art goodies developed by a code pro proved incompatible with updates of the eCommerce software originally selected.
They are offered by few font vendors besides myfonts.com, and font consumers do not expect them elsewhere.
They cost a fortune for brand-style coding, and THP most certainly cannot risk such an investment at this stage of development.
In the meantime, powerful eCommerce plug-ins have been developed for (familiar!) WordPress [WP], the same set of templates used for both the original site and the Chapel (this one).
After researching Easy Digital Downloads [EDD], I decided to “start over from scratch” with this top-rated, fully supported and amazingly comprehensive package tested by 521,260 WP users to date.
I like it! It gives me full control of how the site looks, works and connects with the two related sites. A few kinks remain in the transition between browsing [WP pages] and buying [EDD pages], and I’m working with EDD developers to solve them.
So far, 2015 has been devoted almost exclusively to this project. A demo is almost ready for inspection and feedback. Stay tuned for exciting developments!
