The “building blocks” of the THP Bazaar combine (familiar!) WordPress [WP] templates and carefully selected plugins (image sliders, keyword/footnote tool-tips, etc.) with Easy Digital Downloads [EDD], a comprehensive eCommerce package invoked when a potential customer progresses from browsing and learning to buying.

Like the THP Chapel site (this one, which is built with WP plus bbPress forum templates),  the THP Bazaar is an independent sub-domain of typeheritage.com with special settings for the same WP theme, so it seamlessly interfaces with the original site and echoes the well-established THP “brand image.”

EDD is actively installed by 60,000+ websites and highly respected for excellent support. It is designed by a team of expert volunteers paid by donations and/or affordable fees for related “pro” extensions that perform optional tasks.

There is no doubt that EDD will be actively maintained and improved for many years—as digital downloads escalate in the mainstream marketplace, surely EDD will adapt to serve it.

Best of all, it is SUPER-sensitive to security precautions.

Today’s most typical download products are web-design software, MP3s, videos, photo images, PDFs, etc. Because of their critical WYSIWYG visual requirements, fonts are a bit of a “square peg” in this scenario.

Thanks to an intense learning curve and extensive experimentation with dozens(!) of plugins, THP has managed to adapt EDD’s default features to the font-presentation ideal: full-width specimens instead of the usual grid system illustrating only “thumbnails” and text excerpts that suits most others.

Once this major hurdle was conquered, only a few styling options remain for fine-tuned perfection. In the meantime, functions for viewing fonts available for sale are adequate.

Please explore the “demo” site and express your questions and concerns in the appropriate forum.
