PreciosaPreciosa was shown in the Petzendorfer Schriftenatlas of 1898; the caption identifies Bauer & Co. (Stuttgart) as the commercial source. According to the Klingspor Museum, Bauer claims it <1898; Stempel (Frankfurt), ≤1880.

The caps of this stylized text face were “fonted” by Klaus Johansen (Svendborg, Denmark) as freeware. His generous license reads, “the fonts are free to use for whatever purpose you like, so you don’t need to ask for my permission.”

Are YOU willing to supply the LC glyphs?

Specimens Available

  • Dual-case alphabet (numerals, punctuation, etc. not shown in known specimens)
  • To insure compatibility,  a TrueType version of the existing caps is included

Preciosa has been revived as Precocious Ornamented, and I have produced a version without ornamentation:
